Nachtfell

  • Tristan Macé: Bandoneon, Accordina
  • Natalie Peters: Voice

Nachtfell („Night Fleece“) is reminiscent of the baleen of a whale. It is a filter. Dense and warming, it drifts through darkness and gloom, filtering the light of stars and tiny sparks. It feeds from the depths, establishing a connection in the midst of the inaccessible that allows us to keep wandering. Nachtfell devours the darkness and begins to play. Fascinated by contrasts and contradictions, a poetry of sounds, inner imagery, and landscapes emerges. Macé and Peters search for a refractory power that resists any form of petrifaction. What grows in concealment becomes their stage, a space where they celebrate the moment as a single, vast Now. Bandoneon and voice dig into the mire, that fertile ground from which the most radical contemporary music ascends. They listen closely to understand what seeks to take shape there, and what happens when every form dissolves once more. Thus, monstrous movements unfold in their play, which they explore, animate, and let pass away using the full spectrum of their instruments and their listening.
